Shenandoah Trip Album Labor day weekend of 2003 was our first trip to Shenandoah National Park. We stayed in a nice hotel with all the important things..IE an indoor pool, sauna, hot tub and a great free breakfast every morning; nothing like roughing it, huh? ;) We hiked the southern end of Shenandoah, stopped to have a tailgate picnic lunch and were lucky enough to be on skyline drive as a thunderstorm rolled in over the valley below. We all had such a wonderful time, we decided to make it an annual, before school vacation. We hope to one day stay in the Shenandoah Park itself but, for now, it's nice to have the extras like an indoor pool for the girls.
